Love, Crime, and Chaos: Inside DC’s Upcoming Sirens: Love Hurts Miniseries

DC Comics is shaking up Gotham’s femme fatales with Sirens: Love Hurts, a new four-issue miniseries under its DC Black Label imprint. Announced at NYCC 2025, the series reimagines Catwoman, Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, and Black Canary beyond their usual roles—this is romance, betrayal, and crime all wrapped in Gotham style.

The creative team? Tini Howard is writing, while Babs Tarr handles the art. With their collaboration, the tone is teased as Sex and the City meets Gotham’s most infamous women — adult relationships, complications, and chaos inside and outside the mask.

As for timing: Sirens: Love Hurts is slated to launch in February 2026. Being published under DC Black Label, it’s designed to be out-of-continuity and for mature readers.

Expect a story that spans the year leading up to Black Canary’s wedding — each issue tied to a different season, blending romance, mystery, and friendship tested by secrets. With Babs Tarr’s art promising new costumes each issue and a design approach that leans into glam Gotham style, Sirens: Love Hurts is shaping up to be one of the boldest reimaginings of Gotham’s women yet.
