Throughout Doctor Who’s long run, a variety of actors have portrayed the Doctor, each bringing a unique spin to the character. William Hartnell started as the First Doctor, portraying the character as a wise, sometimes grumpy figure. Patrick Troughton’s Second Doctor introduced a more eccentric, humorous side, while Tom Baker’s Fourth Doctor became a fan favorite with his whimsical yet mysterious demeanor.
