When Swamp Thing Meets Slaughter: Inside Swamp Thing Is Killing the Children

DC Comics and BOOM! Studios have officially greenlit a chilling crossover titled Swamp Thing Is Killing the Children, uniting DC’s elemental horror icon with the monster-hunting drama of Something Is Killing the Children

The project was revealed at NYCC 2025, and it’s being co-published under DC Black Label and BOOM!. The creative team includes James Tynion IV (writer) and Werther Dell’Edera (artist), the same duo behind Something Is Killing the Children. Though official release details haven’t been announced yet, the crossover is expected in 2026.

What makes this crossover intriguing is what it promises: a blending of SIKTC’s visceral monster scares and Swamp Thing’s ecological terror. Expect themes of corruption, nature’s vengeance, and whether monstrous acts are rooted in monster or environment. Swamp Thing Is Killing the Children marks the first time these two horror realms formally collide, bringing Erica Slaughter face to face with the Green. With Tynion’s penchant for moral ambiguity and Dell’Edera’s haunting visuals, fans are already speculating how this will shift the landscape of both universes.

Stay tuned — more info (cover art, issue count, and teaser pages) should drop soon. This crossover could reshape not just two horror series, but how horror functions in mainstream comic universes.
